Taking my small family-hauling wagon farther off-road than most bro-trucks and actual jeeps ever go? Check. The kids were both in the car and they loved it. The view from the top of the hill was nice too. My phone didn’t save the picture for some reason, sorry. This one came out OK though:
This little woods road actually has some big water bars I had to pick my way over very carefully... otherwise it’s something I bike up a lot to access a more interesting trail network, and I’ve always thought, “Hey, I bet my car could go up here.”

Before I had my Jeep, we would take my wife’s X1 out camping. We are in the desert, so a lot of the fire roads are mostly rock and sand. Stuff started breaking, so I bought a Jeep. Both rear shocks were gone at 40k miles. The struts probably aren’t far behind. It also sounds like a Jeep inside now with all the rattles. With the independent suspension, it was definitely more comfortable over rough roads.

Trail rated:
In all seriousness about this “trail rated” joke going on right now, if it isn’t upgraded to Jeep trail specs they pretty much won’t put the badge on it. So I actually give them some props on that.

Haha, yes I don’t do this very often. It was quite comfy going over those rocks, I’m sure my old truck would have been able to go farther up the road but much, much less comfortably.

That’s awesome! Love rallycross, I wish I could have kept my old wagon (same as the current one) for that purpose.
My father-in-law got a kick out of a Jeep promotion at a local ski area a few years back. They drove a bunch of Jeep models out onto the hard-packed snow by the main chairlift, but it was too soft and they all got stuck, buried to the frames. They had to use a snowcat to pull them out. Lots of reasons why they got stuck, none of which had to do with their capabilities, really. But he kept going, “Trail Rated, HAH!” because of all the big banners around. Pretty embarrasing as a promotion.

RallyX is the best. And it’s why I’m not Montego-less. I’m going to look at a Mercury Capri 5.0 bubble back on Saturday to try and buy it for Rally X. Crazy excited about it. You’d have to imagine I really love Rally X to sell the Montego.
And as a guy in advertising, that’s a really, really, badly planned promo!

I personally hate Wranglers. Second least favorite behind the Prius.
People overpay very significantly for a shitty car that they’ll never use for the only thing it’s good at.

I like Wranglers, but then again I’d actually use it if we had one. You just have to know what you’re getting into with one. They suck at almost everything. Interior sucks. I kind of love the “don’t give a damn” attitude about it from Jeep.
